With a weird title like Glass No Pumps, I was afraid to give this song a try. Yes, I read some reviews about it in different J-pop review blogs but, It wasn’t enough to fully convince me. Then one time, Just out of curiousity I decided to give her album, How to use SEXY a try and, you know what, out of all the 10 tracks the album had, this song stood out the most for me. It really caught my attention because of the groovy, dancy-tempoed melody it had. Not to mention the retro-sounding synth it had that made me love the song to it’s fullest. There’s also catchy lines such as, “Dance with me baby baby” and “I love you hold me hold me” that makes the song sound even better… which is the number one reason why whenever I hear it, I can’t help but sing along with Maki. I’m glad I decided to give her a try because, If I didn’t, I wouldn’t like Maki Goto a single bit.
Wierdly, I loooved the B-side, LOVE Kan Coffee. It wasn’t as good as the A-side but, who cares, for me, it was awesome. Sure, It was kind of messy but, it was the GOOD kind of mess. It was seriously catchy for me and the heavy beats were amazingly heavy. It also features hand claps and snaps that give this song a great J-Urban/RnB sound which I love.
