PRECIOUS is MEG’s 12th single. It was released on September 17, 2008, and reached #17 on the oricon weekly charts. It sold a total of 8,041 copies, making it her most succesful single under UMJ.

Though some of you may not know it but, I’ve been listening to MEG ever since people in the blogging world started to talk about her. I remember going to a download site featuring the music video of her song, HEART. People start to comment like “whoo, who’s this girl? she’s good!”, and like “did you hear MEG’s new song? It’s good!”. I didn’t mind them at first but, after a few months later, her album, STEP came out and that’s when I decided to take a listen to her. I wasn’t that WOW-ed but, I must say, I was pretty WOW-ed with PRECIOUS! Despite it having a cheesy PV, the song was a saver. The song was pure fun, catchy, and full of energy. It’s intro does sound a bit like Perfume’s “love the world” but, who cares? As I have said, It is pretty catchy… No, It’s ABSOLUTELY CATCHY, and it’s quite good for a change. Change? What is this “Change” that you speak of? Well, It’s her voice! I’m really happy about it because she doesn’t sound bad. Unlike in her song, MAGIC, she sounds as if she was about to die XD. Anyway, I’m really happy for MEG because she finally gained the popularity she deserved for a long time now… And if I were to be asked, PRECIOUS is definitely deserving in getting the number 1 spot this week.

Good A-side, ?? B-side. I said that because I don’t know what to say about CANDY. It’s not that bad, it’s not that good, and it’s not that average. I hate the way she sings the “CANDY…” lines because she sounds so sleepy! Oh come on, she sounds like she’s dreaming and drooling about CANDY and all sweet stuff. Anyway, the good thing about this song is when the beats pick up and gives the song a more lively sound. I also like the way the synth and beats pair up so well together because I missed it a lot! And come to think of it, I haven’t listened to any Perfume lately… o_O Anyway, this song is a bit confusing but, really, it’s the good kind of “confusing”!

As expected, the end of summer mix of PRECIOUS was excellent! Many of MEG’s remixes are great, and it’s no wonder why because all of her songs seem to fit new styles. The great thing about this song that I like is that it contains guitars! woohoo! It also contains more beats… but sadly, less synth :[ … but anyway, it is still great and is definitely worth a listen. Actually, if you like the original version, then you’ll like this version too.
