tracklist:
1. Rain Is Fallin’ / w-inds.×G-Dragon
2. HYBRID DREAM
3. Upside Down
4. You are…

Being such a big fan of G-Dragon and his works, I was quite excited to know that he was featured on a new song. But to be honest, I wasn’t quite happy to know that he was working with w-inds. . I’m not saying that I don’t like them, I just am not a big fan of their works and stuff. But just out of curiousity on how it would work out, I just decided to ignore what I thought before and tried Rain Is Fallin’. To my surprise, the song wasn’t that bad, and I really liked it. The lines they’re singing were really catchy, and GD’s parts made the song sound even more awesome. The dance/pop arrangement it had was really really groovy, especially the synths. The “DISCOTIC NIGHT” phrase was freakin’ infectious, just to add. Although, after hearing the hook after the second chorus, where things change keys and changes to a higher tune, I was a bit disappointed because the vocals weren’t as good as it was during the start. But this is a really awesome song, neverthless.

I lliked the first A-side, but I just fell in love with the next rack, HYBRID DREAM. I think this song is the best track in this release, because things only take a single path, and things doesn’t sound too sloppy. The calm feeling it had really matched the spacy, and dreamy atmosphere of the song, which was one reason why my mind was blown away by this song. The vocoder on their voices at some parts made the song sound even cooler, and helped make the song sound so futuristic. After hearing this song, I gotta say, my views on w-inds. automatically changed. It looks like they’re one group that’s really worth looking for in the music scene. :)

Upside Down is the first B-side, and it isn’t obvious that it’s a B-side because it is far from the quality of a B-side. This could easily be a great A-side, really, because it sounds so interesting – in a good way. There’s a bumpy beat in it that’s so bouncy that it makes my head nod so much when I listen to it, and there’s something that’s so catchy about it that gets the listener’s attention everytime.

You Are… is the slowest song on the release, but like the other songs here, it sounds really good. It sounds like HYBRID DREAM, but without the heaviness, and there is less spacy feeling. The best thing about this song is that despite it’s slowness, it contantly brings in the catchy parts without any flaw, which makes the song sound so polished.
